To identify, foster and reward the culture of evolving globally acceptable standards of Corporate Governance among Indian companies the ICSI confer annually âICSI National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governanceâ on the companies, which are following best Corporate Governance practices.
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Ravi Pandit, Chairman & Group CEO, KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd., says âWe at KPIT have been complying with the required provisions in letter as well as in spirit to ensure transparency in corporate affairs. The ICSI has always been proactively engaged in catalyzing the corporate governance culture in India. To fulfill the twin objectives of creating wide spread consciousness towards corporate governance among the Indian corporate citizens and to reward excellence in the practice of good governance; the ICSI instituted the âICSI National Award for Excellence In Corporate Governanceâ in the year 2001.
The winners were selected by a jury headed by the former Chief Justice of India, Mr V.N. Khare. Around 200 companies participated for the award.
