Deutsche Bank sells Australia private-equity unit

Two former executives of Deutsche Bank have bought its Australian private-equity unit.

Peter Dowding and Albin Kurti have bought DB Capital Partners and Chum Darvall.

Deutsche Bank's chief executive for Australia and New Zealand told the Wall Street Journal that it represents a shift from "captive to boutique ownership".
With the credit-markets being affected by the US mortgage crisis the future is unclear for private equity according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the bank has two funds investing in private equity with a total of $372.1 million at their disposal.
