The event was exclusively sponsored by CMC Markets.
During a Cocktail Reception at the House of Lords, 11 company awards and 4 individual awards were presented to acknowledge excellence in various categories.
The Award winners were selected from nominations made online during February and March 2007 by an independent panel of judges, comprising of Michael Pitts, IT Director Charles Stanley, Mike Frame, Managing Director, WH Ireland, Graham Shuttlewood, Senior Relationship Manager, Royal Bank of Scotland and John Douthwaite, Senior Manager, Selftrade.
The Securities Industry Management Association (SIMA) President, Brian Winterflood said âI am delighted that SIMA is supporting the Award for Best Newcomer. We need to support new entrants to our business at all levels and the judges were convinced that Kellie Greenâs approach to user training and client services were worthy of the Awardâ.
Peter Cruddas, Chairman and Chief Executive of CMC Markets said âWe are pleased to support these Awards, particularly as they acknowledge excellence with systems. CMC Markets recognise the value of efficient systems and have invested £100 million in ensuring state of the art applications for our rapidly expanding global client baseâ.
Stephen Pinner, Managing Director of Summerson Goodacre said âWe have again seen a substantial increase in the number of nominations for these Awards which are highly respected within the Industry. Systems companies are under constant pressure to ensure that their products and services are kept in line with the changing needs of users and significant regulatory changes demanded by MiFID. It is fitting that firms are recognised in this way for their contributions and support for the Financial Services Industryâ.
Baroness Goudie, a Trustee of the Piggy Bank Kids charity hosted the presentation ceremony. A silent auction was also held for a very large and collectable porcelain piggy bank which raised £5,000 for the charity.
