Kabira Honored with 2007 “Best New Product” Award

San Mateo, CA – 24 April 2007

Kabira, Master Card Worldwide and Capital One named honorees in Cards&Payments Magazine inaugural Best in Payments Awards

Kabira Technologies Inc., a leader in high performance transaction processing software for global enterprises, today announced that its Kabira Payment Suite™ has been selected as “Best New Product” for 2007 by Cards&Payments Magazine. Kabira joins two other honorees in Cards&Payments’ “Best in Payments” Award program: MasterCard Worldwide was honored for Best Marketing Campaign, and Capital One received the award for Best Technology Implementation. The awards were presented last evening during the 19th Annual Card Forum Conference in Boca Raton, FL.

Kabira launched its new financial family of products earlier this year, featuring two products: Kabira Financial Payment Switch™ and Kabira Financial Payment Authorization™. This family of software products provides the payments industry – including large merchants, acquirers, payment processors, card associations, and other payment solution providers – with configurable, real-time transaction acquiring, switching, and processing capabilities for electronic payments.

Kabira was chosen as “Best New Product” for its industry-unique architecture, which stores and processes all data and applications completely within high-speed memory. This gives Kabira applications the power to process thousands of transactions per second, per server, while virtually eradicating latency. Moreover, Kabira’s next-generation architecture protects all data and applications with built-in High Availability in its platform software, eliminating the need to add expensive clustered hardware or external databases to achieve mission-critical levels of availability. Most significantly, Kabira products are designed to run on much lower-cost, commodity hardware.

This unique combination of benefits places Kabira on the frontier of transaction processing solutions because Kabira customers can now match mainframe speed and reliability, and innovate faster than legacy systems permit. Kabira systems surpass legacy systems in extensibility and flexibility--all at a cost point that is comparable to the other low-priced open systems being marketed today.

“We are at a turning point in the card industry,” said Doug Doyle, Vice President of Marketing at Kabira. “There is staggering growth in transaction volume on the one hand, and rapidly declining revenue-per-transaction on the other. We created Kabira Payment Suite to allow our customers to deliver payment processing solutions that are cost-effective, fast to market and flexible enough to change with market conditions. We’re very pleased to be chosen for this award because it recognizes Kabira’s long-term commitment to innovation for the card industry.”

“Cards&Payments recognized Kabira’s Payment Suite as a powerfully differentiated solution to the problem so many electronic payment providers will soon be facing: how to manage the enormous stress that massive increases in transaction traffic have placed on their aging infrastructures.” said Andrew Rowe, Publisher, Cards&Payments. “Kabira’s products tap into a critical need as the card industry shifts its focus to address the challenges of skyrocketing volumes and to develop new profit strategies.”
