ICAP APPOINTS NEW GLOBAL HEAD OF RISK

London and New York - 20 April 2007

ICAP plc (IAP.L) announced today the appointment of Hervé Geny as Global Head of Risk reporting to Mark Yallop, ICAP’s Group Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for extending further ICAP’s risk management framework throughout the Group and will begin his new role on April 23, 2007.

Mr. Geny was previously Head of the Global Risk Management Specialists Group at Moody’s Investor Services in New York. Prior to joining Moody’s he was a Director of Corporate Finance for Merrill Lynch & Co.

Mark Yallop, Group Chief Operating Officer of ICAP, said, "Hervé Geny brings substantial industry experience and global operating knowledge to this vital role. We are delighted to appoint an individual of his calibre and expertise to this position. Given our leading position in the wholesale inter dealer broking markets we take the management of all forms of risk very seriously. Hervé will enable us to develop our risk oversight and control processes, in which we have already invested considerable effort, to an even higher level.”

Phil Moyse, who has combined the role of ICAP’s Chief Risk Officer with his other duties, will remain with the Group as a consultant for a further 18 months.
