Bear Sterns appoints European prime brokerage and equity heads

Bear Stearns has appointed Andrew Jamieson and Paul Brannan as European head of equity finance and European head of prime brokerage respectively.

Mr Jamieson joins from Barcalys Capital, and will report to Jeremy Hill and Pat Castaro in New York and Paul Brannan in London.

Meanwhile, Mr Brannon was previously installed as global head of client service at Lehman Brothers, and will report to Leonard Feder and Louis Lebedin in New York and Vincent Van Pelt and Nicolo Brandolini D'Adda in London.

Vincent Van Pelt, co-head of equities in Europe, told Hedge W eek: "We are committed to investing in the growth and development of our prime brokerage business and these appointments are key to our international strategy.

"Both Paul and Andrew will draw upon their valuable experience in developing business lines and new product areas as we expand our business in Europe."
