Mr Naqvi joins the firm having previously been employed with Barclays Bank in the company's investment banking division, and will serve alongside Jared Baker, who has also come from Barclays Capital and Alistair Mansell, who was at UBS.
It is expected that the Mr Baker and Mr Mansell will take up positions as sales director and director in trading respectively.
The new round of hires for Credit Suisse coincides with the departure of James Beddall, who has resigned from his position as head of UK sales.
Mr Beddall, who had been with Credit Suisse for almost a decade, is now expected to take up a sales position in the Benelux region, where he is based.
The joint venture between Credit Suisse and Clencore was announced in 2006 and has outlined plans to dominate the metals trading market within five years.
