Eiger Systems appoints Jim Conning as Managing Director

26 September 2006

Jim Conning has been appointed Managing Director of Eiger Systems, an Experian company and a leading developer of strategic payment solutions, following Callum Johnston’s decision announced earlier today to leave the company.

Jim Conning will continue to grow the business, supported by a well-established and experienced senior management team. Since joining Eiger Systems a year ago as Director of Sales, Jim’s leadership has enabled the company to substantially increase sales and profitability. His previous experience includes over sixteen years working in software sales with companies such as Multisoft, InfoBank and Microsoft where he held a number of senior management positions overseeing business development across Europe, Asia, America and Africa.

Callum Johnston, one of Eiger Systems’ founding directors, states: “The time is now right for me to move on and pursue other interests and my decision to step down as Managing Director was made a lot easier knowing that the business will be in Jim’s capable hands. Jim made an immediate impact on joining Eiger Systems and he’s the natural choice as my successor.”

Jim Conning states: “We all wish Callum the very best for the future. It’s an exciting time for Eiger Systems and the company is undoubtedly strengthened since becoming part of the Experian group and, in particular, part of QAS, with its focus on data accuracy and validation. My role will be to oversee Eiger Systems’ continued growth in the UK and to strengthen our international presence as we seek to build the company’s global reputation for bank data validation.”

Simon Martin, who joined the sales division of Eiger Systems in 2003, succeeds Jim Conning as Director of Sales. Simon Martin, an e-payments specialist, has over ten years sales experience with companies including the MediaTel Group, where he was a Board Director responsible for Business Development.

Chris Savage, Managing Director of Experian’s Marketing Services division, concludes: “Callum has been instrumental in Eiger Systems’ success and we wish him well. Jim and Simon both possess the leadership qualities and commercial experience to take Eiger Systems’ growth to the next level, ably supported by the QAS and Experian businesses.”
