Sterci hits record with 550’000 messages per hour processed by Stelink enabling new era of SWIFT consolidations

Sydney - 9 October 2006

Sterci, the international leading software provider of STP solutions, today announced at Sibos that the company has set another new benchmark performance record with Stelink its SWIFT middleware interface processing 550’000 messages per hour on Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

This is believed to be the highest performance of any SWIFT interface ever achieved and presents an opportunity for large financial institutions to consolidate their multiple SWIFT hubs into one SWIFT middleware platform offering dramatic reductions in cost of ownership and class leading functionality to support the multiple FIN, FileAct and InterAct services.

The benchmark was performed in the Fujitsu Siemens Computers lab on Fujitsu's highly scalable solaris PRIMEPOWER 2500. Stelink has demonstrated a throughput of 550’000 messages averaged over four consecutive hours with remarkable stability and performance. The results have been reviewed by Sterci’s leading customers.

Etienne Savatier, Marketing Director of Sterci, said : “With market consolidation and the trend to build global messaging hubs with fewer network access points, there is a need for high performance systems. In parallel SWIFT’s new service roll outs and SEPA will definitely increase message volume. The Stelink messaging technology offers class leading performance proven scalability, reliability, and an all-in-one box integration of SWIFT services including FIN-RMA-FileAct-InterAct. It provides a high value low cost solution to major banks or service bureaux needing to manage growing volumes, and the transition from MT to MX (SWIFT XML)”
