The workshops are being developed in response to research by Voca*, which shows that only 15% of UK businesses know about the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA). SEPA is an EU initiative that seeks to remove the barriers to the movement of funds across borders and reduce the cost of euro payments to the level of domestic transfers.
Intended for corporate organisations, the SEPA workshops will consider the implications of SEPA for business and set out a framework and timescale for compliance. In addition, the workshops will demonstrate how organisations should use the initiative to achieve Straight Through Processing for their electronic payments.
Commenting on the workshops, Jim Conning, Managing Director of Eiger Systems, said:
âEiger Systemsâ expertise and knowledge of SEPA plus LogicaCMGâs unrivalled experience working with many of the UKâs leading organisations creates a tremendous combination. Together, we will rapidly fill the information vacuum that currently exists at the highest levels of the UK corporate community about European developments in the payments arena.â
David Philipson, Head of Payments at LogicaCMG said:
âLogicaCMG recognises the depth and breadth of Eiger Systemsâ data validation and payments processing expertise. Given the diminishing time left before SEPAâs introduction, the need for corporates to make rapid progress in their preparations is becoming urgent. These seminars are a vital tool towards that end.â
