SAS UK Growth Continues with Appointment of New Professional Services Director

16 October 2006

SAS focuses on professional services division as part of aggressive drive in the enterprise business intelligence market

SAS, the leader in the new generation of business intelligence software, has today announced the appointment of Nanik Mirpuri as director of professional services, SAS UK. Mirpuri’s appointment comes as part of SAS’ increased push to develop new opportunities in the business intelligence market. Mirpuri moves to SAS following a 15 year career in the IT services industry. He will head up a team of 125 people and report into John Dalton, MD of SAS UK.

SAS’ world-class enterprise intelligence software is enhanced by the backing of superior support and services. Mirpuri’s appointment has been made to drive solid growth of software licences through the increased awareness and expert provision of these professional services. Mirpuri will assume responsibility for leading SAS UK’s consulting, education and customer support functions. One of his first steps will be to expand the team by 35 people and to roll-out a technical account management service, ensuring that SAS’ customers and partners can maximise their investment in SAS software. The growth in professional services comes as a result of SAS’ highest ever revenue performance last year. Total revenues for the year reached £71.1 million, up 10%, and new sales up 30% on the previous year.

He brings with him 15 years of experience in the IT industry, 13 of which in the professional services sector. Most recently, he worked with ICL, Dell, Siebel and NICE Systems, gaining UK and EMEA level experience heading up entire professional services functions. In his early career he worked in project management and client services roles.

John Dalton said of Mirpuri’s appointment: “We are incredibly pleased to have Nanik join SAS. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role and as a member of the SAS UK Executive Team, I’m sure he will make a significant contribution to shaping SAS’ future plans and strategic direction. I very much look forward to working with him.”

Commenting on his plans for the new role, Mirpuri says “I am very excited to join SAS and help create a world-class professional services organisation that will play its part in ensuring SAS delivers exceptional business value to its customers.”

Mirpuri lives in London with his wife and three young children and enjoys travelling and golf.
