AppFusion and Farallon Geographics will work jointly to deliver fully integrated solutions with AppFusionâs Business Intelligence & Collaboration Platform and leading GIS solutions including Autodesk MapGuide®, ESRI ArcGIS®, Intergraph GeoMedia®, MapInfo MapXtreme® and MapServer. The unique solution allows business users to utilize Rich Internet Applications based dashboards with interactive charts and maps that are tightly integrated to enable powerful visualization, analysis and simulation of data in real-time. Coupled with the Management Dashboard solution will be Farrallon Geographicsâ unmatched expertise in providing services for enterprise-GIS including needs assessments, data modeling, integration and implementation.
âAppFusionâs Business Intelligence & Collaboration Platform is the only BI technology on the market that delivers Advanced Modeling, Rich Internet Applications and Service Oriented Architecture. By adding real GIS capabilities to our platform and working with a recognized enterprise-GIS leader, we have a compelling value proposition for customers in a variety of industries and disciplinesâ said Arshak Navruzyan, President and CEO of AppFusion.
Traditional GIS front-ends often display geospatial information on a map background for visualizing a situation or event along with relevant geographic features and positions of entities of interest. AppFusion provides management dashboards that combine these traditional GIS capabilities with dynamically presenting the results from multidimensional analysis of business and geospatial data of the entities, situations and events displayed on the map. AppFusion management dashboards can also present business and geospatial information based on geographic regions and/or political boundaries and enables âwhat-ifâ simulation with simultaneous presentation of scenarios on maps to support rapid, effective decision making.
âOur joint solution creates an easy-to-use platform to integrate location-based business data. The dashboard allows easy access to location-based information for non-GIS users to perform useful analyses while also being scaleable enough to handle extremely large volumes of dataâ said Dennis Wuthrich, CEO and Founder of Farallon Geographics.
Companies in a variety of industries ranging from Financial Services, to Distribution and Retail to Media and Telecom and others will be able to take advantage of this new solution to perform key business driver analysis and simulation in areas such as customer profitability by geography, product mix by retail location and return on assets by deployment location.
Public Sector agencies, at the federal, state and local level have adopted GIS but until now the GIS systems are most frequently not integrated with the BI systems. The requirement for analytic applications that couple geospatial data with conventional data is demonstrated by the Business Reference Model (BRM) included in the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA). In the Geospatial Profile description it states âThe value of place or location-based analysis is often overlooked when modeling business processes, because enterprise architects and program managers typically think of geospatial data only in the context of a map or a remotely sensed image created with GIS applications. The coupling of geospatial data, services and technologies with conventional data, services and technologies can be one of the most significant enablers of improved decision making within business operations.â
