Gwinnett County Office of the Tax Commissioner Moves Technology into the 21st Century with VSoft’s eDesk FTE

-- Remittance solution drastically reduces processing time and improves operational efficiencies --

ATLANTA, April 26, 2006 – VSoft Corporation, a global information and technology provider of process improvement tools for financial institutions, payment processors, government, and utilities organizations announced at the Tax Commissioners Technology Development Council of Georgia (TC TECH) 2006 Conference that Gwinnett County’s Office of the Tax Commissioner has chosen
to implement the VSoft payment processing solution, eDesk From the Envelope (FTE). eDesk FTE will allow Gwinnett County to improve service quality and cost effectiveness of processing documents and checks.

eDesk FTE was designed and developed from the ground up to accommodate the nuances associated with payment processing. eDesk FTE integrates full image lockbox technology with Internet delivery and long-term document archival / retrieval capabilities. Multisite, multi-institution processing make it easy to add lockbox customers to the system, set up customer specific instructions, and establish multiple scan lines per customer. The solution answers the automatic classification, routing, and data capture needs of companies wishing to digitize and index mixed documents. In one single flow and without using any patch or separator sheet, documents such as invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, wholesale remittances, patient records, medical and dental claims, EOBs, legal documents, mortgage documents, correspondence and white mail (even handwritten) are processed at a very high speed.

eDesk FTE utilizes the OPEX AS3600i for front-end capture, allowing for mixed forms processing and NCR’s iTran 300e as the power encoder. The Office of the Tax Commissioner will utilize eDesk FTE to process Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) transactions while interfacing to the State of Georgia’s GRATIS system. eDesk FTE will allow The Office of the Tax Commissioner to lower overall costs by requiring fewer personnel to manually process DMV and property tax payment transactions while improving service to the Gwinnett County customer.

VSoft’s FTE solution will eventually eliminate the entire manual handling of deposit slips, endorsements and adding machine tapes by performing electronic deposits. Funds availability is improved as the solution assures that the funds that come in today are deposited today. Images of the correspondence are captured during the mail opening process. The images are classified, indexed and archived, and are then made available for subsequent processing.

“eDesk FTE eliminates time consuming paper handling and drastically reduces manpower requirements,” said , Murthy Veeraghanta, president, VSoft Corporation. “eDesk FTE will improve employee productivity, reduce costs, and allow our customers to easily advance into the new era of automated exception mail processing.”

With the recent Check 21 legislation and related initiatives, electronics will greatly reduce and eventually eliminate the physical transportation of checks, moving item and remittance processing into the electronic payments world. eDesk FTE will send electronic cash letters from the payment process, and print substitute checks for offline endpoints.

“eDesk FTE provides a flexible and cost-effective method that enables payment
processing operations to perform at optimal speed and efficiency,” said Murthy Veeraghanta, president, VSoft Corporation. “Our solution offers a powerful, yet user-friendly, all-in-one module to process all mixed scanned documents: structured, semi-structured, and unstructured.”
