Leading European insurer leverages Informatica for single customer view, reduced risk and enhanced business agility

Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), today announced that Schade Bedrijven, the business-damage insurance arm of Interpolis Verzekeringen N.V., one of the largest insurance providers in the Netherlands, has implemented Informatica PowerCenter Advanced Edition as the data integration platform supporting the company’s centralized business-reporting and management-information initiatives. Delivering timely, consolidated views across all customers, policies, premiums and damages, PowerCenter Advanced Edition is helping Schade Bedrijven more closely manage insurance risk, reduce operational costs, and react quickly to changing market conditions and the needs of its approximately 200,000 corporate customers.

“By providing a single view of customers and driving insights into client and risk groups, Informatica PowerCenter Advanced Edition is adding significantly to Schade Bedrijven’s competitive advantage and ability to make well-informed management decisions,” said Gerard Janssen, project manager at Schade Bedrijven. “After an extended selection process—in which we evaluated the product against 48 distinct criteria—we chose PowerCenter Advanced Edition because it proved to be the industry’s highest-performance, most scalable and most feature-rich data integration platform. Given the product’s current success, we also anticipate using PowerCenter Advanced Edition to support data migration and other integration initiatives within Interpolis as there is much to gain from its efficiency and rapid time-to-value.”

PowerCenter Advanced Edition consolidates all of the company’s data regarding policyholders, their multiple policy applications and coverage, and information on collected premiums and paid damages into a centralized repository. The resulting visibility into customers, risk groups, premiums and paid damages enables Schade Bedrijven to be highly agile in setting insurance conditions and adjusting premiums in its competitive marketplace.

In addition to ensuring the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of the data to be analyzed, PowerCenter Advanced Edition has also helped Schade Bedrijven reduce its data-handling and processing costs through its high-performance data movement and consolidation capabilities.

“In the face of globalization, increased competition, escalating customer and regulatory demands, today’s insurance and financial services providers face a world of pressures as they strive to gain and retain customers and maximize product profitability,” said Dave Berry, senior vice president of EMEA, Informatica. “In providing a complete and accurate view of enterprise information, and delivering it when, how and where it is needed, PowerCenter empowers Interpolis with clarity into customers, profit drivers, growth opportunities as well as into its own data processes.”
