Voca celebrates first anniversary and passes the five billion automated
payments transaction landmark

LONDON, 12th October 2005 - Voca, the secure transactions processor, today announces the successful delivery of over 5 billion electronic payments, achieving the milestone just 12 months after its launch as a commercial entity . The milestone acts as an impressive endorsement of Voca's secure
payments record and marks a significant accomplishment for the business
following a year of rapid transition, growth and delivery.

In addition, over the past 12 months Voca has delivered a greater level of
technology change than in all of its 37-year history, including registering
over 80,000 users with the world's largest interoperable PKI-based payment
service, BACSTEL-IP. Indeed, from its inception in 2000, Voca's technology
change programme has deployed cutting-edge technology, winning a number of
industry awards and ensuring that the technology has become a global leader
in its field. Voca has also achieved a new daily payments volume record in
September 2005 of over 75 million.

David Sear, Commercial Director, Voca, commented, "When we re launched and
re named Voca we knew that we had to preserve and develop a reputation that
stretches back 37 years, coupled with the challenge of achieving further
growth. The continued increase in transaction volumes reinforces Voca's
position as one of the foremost transaction processors in Europe."

He added, "Reaching this significant milestone is a fantastic achievement
for the business and we would like to extend our thanks to the banks, our
suppliers, customers and our staff for helping to reach this goal. If this
is what can be achieved in one year as Voca, we can be very optimistic about
what the company is capable of in the longer term as we look towards
expansion within the European market place."
