- Software house first to gain global accreditation from payments giant -
Comms XL, the transaction and data processing specialist, is the first software house to achieve global accreditation from MasterCard for a generic Chip and PIN system. The international payments solutions company has approved Comms XLâs Chip and PIN product, SmartCCard Lite, for installation by merchants without further testing.
SmartCCard Lite is a âplug and playâ Chip and PIN solution that, due to its all-inclusive capabilities, can be implemented by merchants without the problem of approval and third party integration. Authorisation and payment file fulfilment to the acquiring bank takes place through either the CCServer module residing on the merchantâs network or over a secure link to Comms XLâs SecureCXL payment service.
The secure and comprehensive nature of Comms XLâs technology means MasterCard will not require further accreditation testing when the system is installed. The dynamic and sensitive nature of todayâs payment environment often puts pressure on resources, so proven, off-the-shelf solutions are a huge boost to everyone involved in the industry.
Denise Hall, managing director of Comms XL commented: "This endorsement of SmartCCard Lite reflects MasterCardâs confidence in Comms XLâs technology and people. The knock-on effect for retailers migrating to Chip and PIN solutions to cut card fraud, for which they are now liable, is that their implementation window has reduced dramatically."
