PARIS (17 May 2005)âDow Jones Newsletters today announced that it is launching two new publications to cover the rapidly growing private-equity market in Europe. The firstâ"European Buyouts Daily"âwas unveiled here today at the Limited Partners Summit Conference at the Le Parc Paris Sofitel Demeure. The otherâ"VentureWire Europe"âwill be launched this Thursday, 19 May. They will provide a global perspective for investors, bankers, lawyers and others in the alternative investment industry.
Both publications, which will be delivered to subscribers via email every weekday before 08:00 GMT, also will provide an authoritative news source that accurately captures the specific activity of interest to European buyout and venture-capital professionals.
"âEuropean Buyouts Dailyâ and âVentureWire Europeâ will serve an unmet need in Europe for a reliable daily source of information on the private-equity market," said Kenneth Andersen, editorial director of Dow Jones Newsletters. "Professionals working in the market currently have only targeted regional news sources or broader general-finance publications. These newsletters will offer industry leaders breaking news and contextual trend coverage in a sophisticated, easy-to-read formatâdelivered directly to their inbox each morning."
"European Buyouts Daily" will cover the entire spectrum of European buyout activity, including hard-to-find details on small- to midmarket deals; investment opportunities; and comprehensive sector trends.
"VentureWire Europe" will leverage the strengths of its industry-leading U.S. counterpartâ VentureWireâto offer a daily, detailed look at European venture-capital deal flow and fund raising, as well as a complete context on the global venture-capital market. It will provide readers with statistical insights on the European market from highly respected resources, including the Dow Jones VentureSource database.
Both newsletters will be staffed by a dedicated team of reporters with significant experience covering the financial markets for a range of international publications. Among the new appointments made for the publications are Carol Dean and Emma Blake for "European Buyouts Daily," and Sonja Cheung and Alison Birrane for "VentureWire Europe." They will be based in London.
The newsletters also will take advantage of the editorial excellence provided by their parent, Dow Jones & Company, and will include contributions from reporters at the Companyâs other publicationsâincluding The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires and Private Equity Analyst.
