New at this year’s Sterling Commerce Customer Connection conference will be the MESA Awards for customer innovation. The MESA Awards recognise customers who have successfully implemented multi-enterprise collaboration initiatives in three categories, which include:

§ Community - recognising best practices in building sizable trading partner communities and managing the related volume of transactions

§ Supply Chain Management - recognising companies using application services for specific aspects of supply chain management such as real-time order management, inventory management and point-of-sale transaction management
§ Collaboration - recognising companies who are leveraging the business value contained within business transactions to drive competitive edge or other demonstrable business value

Awards will be made on an individual and organisational level and will be announced by Sterling Commerce CEO Sam Starr on May 18, 2005.

The 2005 Customer Connection conference will feature several sessions led by Sterling Commerce customers that are industry leaders in financial services, manufacturing, retail/consumer packaged goods, telecommunications and transportation.

These customers will present sessions on topics such as real-time processing, secure data transmission, data integration, and electronically enabling trading partners with multi-enterprise collaboration solutions.
