London, 7 June 2005: Ian Price has been appointed Managing Director of Digital Payments with immediate effect. Digital Payments is a joint venture between Voca, Retail Decisions and Mi-Pay. With Direct Debit at its core, the business will make payments in new media environments safer, more convenient and cost effective.
Price, 40, comes from BT Group where he was founding CEO of BT click&buy, the award-winning online content payment solution. Digital Payments will be a first â enabling merchants to manage consumer payments on new media channels including digital television, internet, SMS and mobile phones. Consumers will be able to pay by Direct Debit for the first time anywhere and at any time over these channels. By using this trusted and familiar payment method, consumers can organise direct withdrawals from their bank accounts conveniently and quickly alongside significantly reduced fraud risks.
Price said: âI am delighted to be leading such an exciting new company. Mi-Pay, Retail Decisions and Voca make a remarkable partnership and I look forward to making the venture a success.â
