- On-Demand Service Delivers up-to-the-Minute News and Developments Straight to Subscribers' Desktops
Townsend Analytics now offers a direct RSS feed that alerts customers, the media and other interested parties of important information from Townsend Analytics and its RealTick(R) direct-access trading platform.
The free RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news service lets subscribers view announcements, pricing updates, special events and promotions, press releases and more using any RSS Reader.
"Now you don't have to re-visit our website or give your email address to
stay on top of updates and developments," explains Mike Felix, Director of
Marketing for Townsend Analytics and RealTick. "The CAN-SPAM act has clearly
indicated that consumers want more control of their communications, and this
service offers an anonymous, unobtrusive and time-saving option that puts
subscribers in the driver's seat," he adds.
RSS Technology allows users to consolidate all their favorite online news
and web sources such as trading and investment sites, newspaper, trade,
magazine, and corporate sites, as well as blogs, wikis and podcasts, into a
single aggregated reader. This is done simply by subscribing to each site's
The news reader then periodically checks each RSS channel, updates all
recently published news and items, and displays the results -- usually in a
headline and one-line summary. When a headline is of interest, users just
click and go directly to the source.
Because RSS Feeds deliver information directly to subscribers' desktops
-- not through an email service or ISP -- they are completely secure and
spam-proof. Assurance Systems recently reported that 15% of legitimate email
does not make it to the intended inbox, and one ISP is blocking more than 25%
of the opt-in messages entering its system. As the fight against spam
intensifies, these 'false positives' increasingly prevent critical
information from reaching consumers.
"As a leader in the electronic trading industry, Townsend Analytics is
continually upgrading our RealTick platform and adding features and functions
to support our customers' trading decisions," states Felix. "Now they can
safely ensure they learn of updates and other important information that can
improve their success."
