Hewlett Packard forms strategic relationship with DataSynapse to advance adoption of Grid Computing Solutions

DataSynapse GridServer Virtual Enterprise Edition to be offered with HP Linux-based Cluster Platforms

LONDON – 20 June 2005 – DataSynapse, Inc., the fastest-growing provider of grid computing solutions for the virtual enterprise, today announced that its DataSynapse GridServer® Virtual Enterprise Edition will be offered within the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio, HP’s modular packages of high performance computing hardware and software. The announcement is part of an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreement with HP designed to advance the deployment of grid computing solutions.

The bundled offering provides users with a complete out-of-the-box grid solution that accelerates the migration of applications to an environment of shared HP resources. Combining the strength of HP Cluster Platforms and ProLiant hardware and DataSynapse GridServer infrastructure software, the solution also provides an immediate and extensible path for integrating legacy applications into a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The result is a computing model that helps organisations drive substantially higher service levels at significantly lower costs.

"Together, HP and DataSynapse will accelerate the migration of enterprise applications onto a grid of shared blade servers," said Peter Lee, CEO of DataSynapse. “This solution will enable companies to improve business performance with a more agile and responsive IT infrastructure."

DataSynapse GridServer will support Linux-based HP Cluster Platform 3000 and 4000 systems including ProLiant servers and HP BladeSystem server blades.

"Collaborating with a grid computing innovator like DataSynapse furthers our commitment to helping organisations simplify the use and management of distributed IT resources," said Bruce Toal, director of marketing for HPC and GRID at HP.

HP and DataSynapse plan to demonstrate how the joint solution will enhance application performance at the SIA show, booth 2217, in New York, 21-23 June 2005.
