Wombat Names Brendan Duffy as Vice President, Engineering

Appointment Further Consolidates Wombat’s Global Software Engineering Team

Incline Village, NV and Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK, June 15, 2005 – Wombat Financial Software today announced that Brendan Duffy has joined the financial software company and developer of the financial markets’ next-generation market data platform as vice president, engineering. Reporting to Danny Moore, Wombat’s COO, Duffy has responsibility for the development, delivery and support of the Wombat product suite from the Wombat Development Center in Belfast, UK, where he will oversee engineering and infrastructure globally.

"Brendan’s appointment is a key component of Wombat’s plan to build an engineering center of excellence in Belfast to support global operations," said Ron Verstappen, Wombat’s CEO. "The Belfast office has already proved to be a very productive engineering foundry, rolling out over 10 new feed handlers and a number of new product lines over the last six months. Basing the vice president of engineering in Belfast was a natural move to consolidate the achievements to date."

"We believe that Brendan’s background and skill sets are a great fit with the Wombat software engineering philosophy," commented Moore. "Before graduating to management and operations, he established himself as a top-class developer, with extensive C/C++ and UNIX experience. There is an outstanding pool of extremely talented, experienced engineers in Northern Ireland. Brendan’s proof of that. We’re thrilled to have him."

Duffy has over 12 years’ experience in delivering enterprise software across the financial services and telecommunications sectors. "His extensive experience with software solution development and implementation combined with his ability to effectively manage a team," added Moore, "will make him an invaluable member of Wombat's growing organization."

Duffy joins Wombat from Datactics Limited, a UK data quality technology company. As COO and vice president of commercial services, he helped build the professional services and delivery infrastructure that enabled Datactics to grow its business into North America and Europe. Prior to Datactics, he worked for Kainos Software Limited, one of the UK’s, and Ireland's, leading specialist systems integrators. In his nine years at Kainos, he progressed from a software engineer, developing server-side and middle-ware IT architecture components, to a senior delivery/program manager and solutions architect. Prior to this, he worked for Lotus Development Corporation as a member of the newly-created UNIX development center team.

Duffy is a graduate of Queens University in Belfast, where he obtained a BA in computer science.
