eAccess is a cash reporting and transaction research system that delivers real time information from the Bank's global product centers in the Western Hemisphere, Europe and Asia to clients worldwide via the Internet.
"We are delighted to have been recognized by The Banker for eAccess. The product itself reflects our commitment to client service," said Thomas Wiles, AEB's head of Interactive Product Management & Marketing. "eAccess is the foundation of our online offering, and is integral to our overall competitive differentiation strategy. We developed the product in direct response to our clients' needs, and set out to design it exclusively for financial institutions, which generally require a more detailed level of reporting than corporate end-users."
eAccess was developed with SunGard, built on the intelliTRAN Customer Service solution, to create an entirely new online banking tool that extends customer service capabilities of the Bank and its customers. The product integrates disparate transaction information, such as SWIFT messages, statement entries, or external clearing messages, and gives one complete view of a transaction that is processed by multiple parties. Its real time balances and transactions module facilitates better payment and funding decisions by enabling cash managers to track their cash positions in real time. Clients who hold multiple accounts with AEB in more than one currency can have a consolidated view of their global multi-currency balance summaries in real time on one screen.
"eAccess allows increased productivity, more efficient reconciliation, automated investigations, flexible search capabilities, and helps with informed decision-making," Mr. Wiles added. "These features in turn allow the user to provide better and faster customer service."
"We are delighted to share The Banker Award for IT/Business alignment of the year with American Express Bank. The bank's vision for deepening customer service matched with SunGard's technological innovation delivers what we all seek from business partnerships - solutions that transforms the customer experience," commented Tom King, president, SunGard STeP.
Dan Barnes, financial systems editor at The Banker said, "The category 'IT/Business alignment of the year' is about service delivery through alignment of the IT area, business functions and third party groups.
Communicating between and coordinating across teams can often be the hardest part of an IT program. American Express Bank and SunGard created a team that not only delivered the technology required, they achieved this with a smoothly run project, optimal use of available systems and strong project management. They demonstrated the ability to take a strategic vision and transfer it into real results."
