BALTIMORE, July 22, 2005 â Advanced Financial Solutions (AFS), a Metavante company, today announced the availability of AFS Direct Point of Sale (POS), an approved cashiering solution with check image capture that enables remote check deposit from the point-of-sale. This provides retail merchants with multiple benefits, ranging from fewer trips to the bank, improved cash flow, and a shortened collection cycle that narrows the window for check fraud with faster authentication and earlier notification of questionable or fraudulent items.
AFS Direct POS provides retail merchants with the ability to scan, capture and send check payments directly from the point-of-sale, as they occur, throughout the day. Returned or non sufficient funds (NSF) checks are identified in hours, rather than days, providing retail merchants with the ability to re-present these items quickly, with a higher percentage of collection.
AFS will be exhibiting and demonstrating Direct POS in booth number 715 at The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI) Expo & Forum. The 2005 TAWPI Expo, the leading event for technology and management professionals in data capture, mail, imaging, payment/remittance, document and forms processing, is being held July 24 â 27, at the Baltimore Convention Center.
"AFS Direct POS provides retail merchants with a viable and affordable electronic payments solution that can eliminate the need to physically deliver and deposit checks at financial institutions," said Gary Nelson, president, AFS. "Our solution helps retail merchants optimize their image capture processes by increasing revenue, decreasing costs, and improving operational efficiencies, which can eliminate the expense, risk, and limitations of traditional deposit methods."
The 2005 TAWPI Expo & Forum is expected to attract hundreds of operations professionals looking for information on how to manage, streamline and optimize their information capture processes. AFS will be exhibiting and demonstrating AFS Direct POS in booth number 715 throughout the conference.
