Dublin, Ireland, 21st July, 2005 - PolarLake, a leader in standards-based incremental integration, has today launched a new guide â "Seven Principles Of SOA Success" â written to assist organizations in the adoption of SOA. The guide outlines and discusses principles and approaches that can help ensure successful SOA development and thus improved return on investment. The document also covers appropriate technologies for SOA implementation, including the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
The seven principles can be used as guidelines for the evaluation of SOA strategy, and include:
Minimize costs of disruption
Use Industry Standards Wherever Possible
Accept The Things You Cannot Change
Understand The Strategic Value
Buy, Donât Build
"As the SOA bandwagon gathers momentum, it is essential that organizations considering SOA adoption remain focused on the benefits â cost-effective and flexible IT systems â and understand exactly how to achieve them," said Ronan Bradley, CEO of PolarLake. "Unfortunately this becomes increasingly difficult when so many competing vendors claim to offer âSOA solutionsâ that vary widely in their approaches to SOA. This guide is a first step in framing the debate, identifying how best SOA can deliver on the promised benefits, and helping organizations facing key decisions as they move towards SOA."
