Based on clientsâ survey returns, InStepâs results show that between January and June 2004, CDL systems were used to write 400,000 cases of motor insurance via EDI, a significant increase since the same period in 2002 when 270,000 cases were written. The figures show an 18% increase from 2003 when 340,000 cases were recorded.
The same research indicates that this accounts for the vast majority of motor insurance business, with 94% now being written via EDI.
