Along with the messaging service, Reuters will also provide BNP Paribas with a hosted logging service that gives the bank the capability to log and archive all its internal and external Reuters Messaging communications for up to seven years, ensuring the bankâs compliance with instant messaging regulations. Furthermore, it will not require installations of hardware at its six main offices, something it would have to do if managing the logging and archiving itself.
David Gurle, EVP, Global Head of Collaboration Services at Reuters, said: "The roll out of the RM service at BNPP with our hosted archiving and logging service is proof that we are able to offer productivity and cost saving benefits in the heart of our customers businesses. Reuters Messaging is making a real difference to the way the financial services industry operates and interacts. Our new capability of providing hosted compliance solution alongside of Reuters Messaging is a major step in the expansion of our collaboration offerings."
David Gordon, Strategist at BNP Paribas, said: "BNP Paribas is very keen on improving the workflow for our users and to facilitate interactions between both the buy side and sell side. We see Reuters Messaging as a key enabler in the markets we operate. Reuters flexibility and its ability to deliver a comprehensive solution greatly facilitates the integration of advanced collaboration capabilities for BNP Paribas at a very low cost of ownership."
