By using SierraLink, a proprietary leading middleware platform, FNXâs solutions seamlessly integrate and transfer information electronically across the organization involved in a customerâs trading cycle. The focus of these additions is the integration with Prime Brokers, Liquidity providers and Execution engines.
Two examples of recent interfaces are the integration with Deutsche Bank and UBS Investment Bank systems. FNX offers its customers integration with Autobahn, Deutsche Bankâs real-time trade interface, which transmits confirmed Foreign Exchange trade details from the back office to their clientsâ trading systems. FNX integrates data with UBS Investment Bank Front-to-Back Foreign Exchange, Fx2B, a real-time trade feed that connects UBS back office system with their Electronic Trading Partners.
The development of these interfaces with Deutsche bank Autobahn and UBS Fx2B, enables real-time connectivity with Sierra, allowing FX transactions to be automatically fed into the system, and real-time updates to positions, blotters, and limits. These interfaces provide FNXâs clients with increased efficiencies, as trades are automatically loaded into the database vs. manual entry. Because both are real-time interfaces, The Sierra Solution provides traders and risk managers with up-to-date information when formulating trading decisions.
"The flexibility of the SierraLink Architecture is enabling FNX's clients to integrate an ever-increasing range of systems using a variety of data formats and communication protocols faster than ever before," said Andrew Vickers, FNXâs Sierra Systemsâ CTO. "Although electronic interfaces have been around for a long time, SierraLink dramatically simplifies the implementation of real-time data feeds into and out of the Sierra System. In the case of trade feeds, Traders and Risk Managers can now see the risk, position and P/L impact of all of their trades, regardless of source, in one place, in real time."
With the introduction of the new interfaces, FNX expands its extensive connectivity-offering even further, which includes leading third party solutions such as Cognotec, EBS, Reuters, Bloomberg, FT, TOCOM and SWIFT, and more. "The addition of these new interfaces is a testament of our continuous effort to provide our customers with fully integrated STP capabilities, enabling improvements in the processing cycles, risk reductions and lower operating costs," said James Dennelly, FNXâs President - Sierra Solutions.
