Leading social care recruitment agency, Reliance Care has placed an order worth £150k with IT Services Group Touchstone to roll out the financial application Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains and the Business Intelligence solution Vision. The system will provide a consistent source of management information, leading to improved forecasting. It is anticipated that the new solution will ensure consistency of financial information, reduce time spent on manual processing tasks, and create significant business efficiencies, as well as enhance financial control in the coming months through more efficient credit control.
Financial information is now captured via Microsoft Great Plains and then aggregated with the sales information from the Saphur Tempest Pay and Bill application system. The Vision Executive Business Intelligence tool correlates data between these different applications to attain a clear, consistent business view. Gary Belchem Finance Director at Reliance Care says: "Vision Executive has really enabled us to bring sales and financial information together, in order to explore trends, patterns and anomalies in the data."
The solution has replaced the existing accounting system which did not offer the requisite flexibility and was expensive to develop, maintain and use. "The system was built on old technology and had very weak credit control functionality. It was also very difficult to elicit good management information," comments Belchem.
Reliance Care was established in 1967. The first agency to supply locum care staff to social services and is today the largest social care recruitment specialist in the UK. The agency delivers flexible recruitment solutions tailored to individual requirements to help clients meet the challenges of delivering vital social services. Reliance Care provide over two million hours of care annually to varying local authorities and private organisations throughout the UK.
Touchstone's experience integrating systems in the recruitment sector and its impressive track record with Microsoft Business Solutions, made the IT services group a perfect fit for Reliance Care.
The software will allow Reliance Care to optimise its finance function, with fast and user-friendly management reporting and improved credit control functionality. Reliance Care anticipates that it will achieve a 10% reduction in debtor days. The company also expects to achieve 40% savings on monthly report generation. "At the moment it takes about two-and-a-half days of solid number crunching to produce our management accounts. Having worked with Great Plains before, I know that we can cut that down to a two-minute exercise," says Belchem. He adds, "In addition to the efficiency gains, the new system from Touchstone will allow all parts of Reliance Care to have speedy access to good clear and concise management reports in order to help support and drive the business forward."
