Podcasts are recorded audio MP3 files that can be played online, downloaded to a computer and transferred to an iPod or other portable audio MP3 players. StreetIQ.com represents a unique initiative by FinancialContent to aggregate financial podcasts and to organize them by ticker symbols and by business sectors. StreetIQ.com will feature profiles of financial podcasters as well as reviews of podcasting events, software, hardware and other podcasting-related products and services. StreetIQ.com is encouraging its beta-testers to provide feedback about their experiences with the website and to suggest ways to enhance the overall service.
"StreetIQ.com will be more than a directory of financial podcasts," said Wing Yu, CEO of FinancialContent. "Our goals are to build a community where both individual and professional investors can find compelling audio content and to empower financial podcasters with the venue to broaden their reach and to build a global audience base."
StreetIQ.com will stay in beta mode through the next few weeks before its formal launch in September.
"BottomLineRadio.net is very excited to be involved with the initiative at StreetIQ.com," said Todd Hickman, co-host of the popular business radio show. "The StreetIQ.com team has built a very informative and user-friendly website that lets listeners find a good mix of independent financial podcasts along with programs produced by large media companies."
StreetIQ.com welcomes inquiries from the podcasting community, podcast service providers, advertisers and other potential partners.
