CICADA EXPANDS GLOBAL SALES ORGANIZATION IN RESPONSE TO DEMAND

27 April 2005 – New York – For the second time in 2005, Cicada is expanding its sales team in response to increasing market opportunities and demand for the company’s reference data management solutions. Cicada is a leading provider of software and outsourcing services for managing, validating and cleansing financial reference data.

In the US, Steve Rosenberg has joined Cicada as Director, Americas Sales. Steve was previously with Reuters, where for the past 4 years, he led in developing the Enterprise Information Products Solutions business, including the DataScope suite and EIP third party redistribution sales. Prior to this, Steve held various senior sales roles in the reference data and securities industries. At Bridge Information Systems, he was responsible for sales of its Sec Admin (EJV) and B2B Redistribution business; prior to this, he served as a Director at CIBC Oppenheimer. Steve will report to Bruce Schachne, VP Global Sales.

For Europe, Cicada welcomes Eija Hietavuo, who joins Cicada as European Sales Director. Eija was previously founder of Jemrik Ltd., a corporate research company specializing in corporate governance and corporate social responsibility analysis. Prior to this, she was with Reuters for over 10 years in a variety of senior sales and marketing roles, most recently heading EMEA region business development and marketing for equities-related products.

Cicada has also recently expanded in London, with the addition of Bruce Hawkins, formerly of GoldenSource. Bruce now serves as Business Consultant for Cicada, managing pre- and post-sales support efforts. While at GoldenSource, Bruce held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, most recently Pre Sales Consultant/ Business Consultant. Bruce and Eija are reporting to Carole Mahoney, VP European Sales.

The new hires join Cicada’s existing sales efforts and will focus on responding to increasing interest in the company’s reference data management solutions. The company provides software and outsourcing services for data cleansing, as well as a specialized solution range for managing client data for regulatory compliance and credit risk management.
