MENTEC ACQUIRES LONDON-BASED MICROSOFT PARTNER

Mentec International continues its international expansion programme with the acquisition of Xdat Software Ltd, a leading UK Microsoft partner

Dublin, 25/04/2005: Mentec International, a leading provider of integrated financial management, ERP and eBusiness solutions, has acquired Xdat Software Ltd, the London-based Microsoft Great Plains specialist. The deal, part of a larger acquisition programme, is the second UK-based purchase by Mentec in six months.

Founded in 2001, Xdat Software is the third largest UK partner for Microsoft Great Plains, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for mid-sized organisations. Since its establishment the company has developed a strong presence in the south of England, with nearly 100 customers across financial services, publishing, retail and other sectors.

The acquisition provides Mentec with a significant professional services base in London and enhances its service delivery capability across the entire southern UK region.

Announcing the deal at Mentec’s Dublin headquarters, managing director, Kevin Haverty, said: "This acquisition is another key milestone in Mentec’s business expansion programme and further underscores our commitment to the Microsoft Great Plains solution. The addition of Xdat to our operations enables us to more effectively deliver consulting, development and support resources to the south of England, and provides us with a sizeable customer footprint in the Greater London region."

Xdat Software Ltd is the third Microsoft Great Plains reseller to be acquired by Mentec. The company purchased Ireland's largest reseller; Sequel Financial Systems in 2001, and more recently, in December 2004, Sytation Ltd, an East Midlands-based Microsoft partner. Mentec is now the second largest Great Plains reseller in Europe.

Xdat Software will trade as Sytation and work will commence immediately on integrating the company into group operations. All employees, including senior management, will remain in place.

Commenting on the acquisition, Nigel Stanley, Director of Xdat Software said: "This acquisition greatly enhances the range of resources and services we can provide to our customers, particularly around configuration and customisation requirements. As part of the Mentec group, we now have immediate scalability in terms of the projects that we can deliver and types of opportunities that we can pursue."
