Butterfield Bank has chosen BankWorld ATM Client, Distributor and Controller to manage its ATMs on the islands and is the first bank in the Caribbean to license CR2's BankWorld ATM solution. The Windows-based ATM Client will also allow the bank to present a full graphical interface at this touchpoint, BankWorld Controller reports network or hardware faults immediately they occur thus reducing maintenance call-out costs, and BankWorld Distributor allows the bank to update the ATM software remotely, saving both time and money and ensuring that ATM uptime is maximised.
A leading financial institution in the Cayman Islands, Butterfield Bank provides a comprehensive range of services to the local and international markets from its Cayman location. It has been a CR2 customer since 1992.
Ray Farrington, Manager, Information Systems in Butterfield Bank in the Cayman Islands said, "We have been very happy with CR2 over the last 12 years. The upgraded ATMs together with the new software provide us with Triple Des compliance which of course is an absolute must before May 2005."
The bank has been offering Mobile top up via ATMs since earlier this year. Customers will still be able to take advantage of this with the new software. In addition, non bank customers have and will continue to have the facility to top up their mobile phones via Butterfield Bank's ATMs using their Visa cards. This provides the bank with an extra revenue stream.
"Butterfield Bank has been named " Bank of the year" in the Cayman Islands by the Banker magazine in 2002 and again this year", said Kieran Kilcullen, Sales and Marketing Director, CR2. "One of the reasons they were chosen is for their innovative use of technology. By offering the mobile top up facility on their ATMs to non bank customers, they are providing a service matched by few banks in the region."
