Now, building upon this wealth of experience Pulse has become one of the first suppliers in its field to truly embrace Microsoft .Net and has announced Pulse Symphonyâ¢, a major new evolution in its offerings to the Wealth Management industry.
Pulse Symphonyâ¢, which is due for official launch early next year, is a very flexible, front office wealth management solution that consists of a range of highly sophisticated modules, driven by distributed business objects that have been developed utilising C #and Design Patterns. Mike Nicholls, MD and Chief Technical Officer at Pulse says; âAlthough we have clearly built upon our wealth of business knowledge we have not simply taken the easy option and converted existing code. Our clients are very sophisticated in their requirements and we have therefore implemented a totally new development environment and created this solution from the ground up to ensure that we take maximum advantage of these powerful new toolsets.â
One of the most dynamic features of Pulse Symphony⢠is its ability to effortlessly work with large numbers of clients. This provides the business with discrete hierarchical views performed at portfolio, client, family, investment manager, team, branch and firm level.
Pulse Symphony⢠also allows users to easily tailor the solution to their own requirements, delivering a degree of flexibility that has never before been possible. Pulse Symphony⢠has been designed to allow users to define exactly which module functionality they wish to use when performing various tasks. However, the flexibility within Pulse Symphony⢠goes much further than that and really allows each investment manager to build a âpersonalised versionâ of the product based around the way they operate and prefer to see their information presented.
Pulse Symphony⢠includes a powerful Composer tool which allows each user to design their own desktop layouts. This not only allows the user to display information using their own personalised views but this unique design architecture means that objects may also be linked to give truly interactive functionality. Although of course Pulse Symphony⢠may include any number of agreed default screens, the user may also create and store as many of their own as they wish. For example, a user may decide to design a âhome pageâ which may be the first screen they look at each morning providing them with a personal management summary. In one panel there may be a high level asset allocation graph of total funds under management. In another the manager may wish to view clients grouped by investment mandate, objective or risk profile, whilst a third panel may display largest holdings by market value. Any number of objects may be included within a screen design and depending upon their own investment style, managers may also choose to build personal screens for tasks such as the modelling and rebalancing of portfolios alongside performance measurement analysis, or CGT Optimisation.
Pulse Symphony⢠takes full advantage of the internet as a high speed, globally available delivery mechanism. This means that the technology is available anywhere that you have a fixed or wireless internet connection and can be readily accessed by investment managers on the move and may even be delivered onto a PDA device. This flexibility creates the potential for investment firms to offer a unique level of service to premium clients.
Even further flexibility is permitted as additional third party or user designed controls may also be seamlessly integrated within the framework to interact with existing Pulse controls thereby ensuring that any business requirement may be met within a single user environment.
Web Services can also be easily included within any views. This means that you are not restricted to information held within your own database; rather you can chose to view relevant real-time prices, research, company news or even the ski reports all within your own defined environment.
