CODA Group, the financial software specialist, today announced that Arlington Securities became the first customer to go âliveâ on CODA-Financials version 10, CODAâs new generation finance and accounting system. Arlington Securities signed the agreement to upgrade an earlier CODA system in early July, and the new system went live on August 12th.
Arlington Securities is one of the UKâs leading property services and investment management businesses operating across UK, European and international markets. It has £5.2bn of funds under management, currently has 11 business parks in development and conducted £37m sales in property services and development in 2003. Arlingtonâs high-profile business developments include Aztec West in Bristol (home of Wallace & Gromit and Aardman Animation amongst others), Birmingham Business Park, and Hatfield Business Park.
Tim Tribe, Head of Product Management at CODA, said: "CODA-Financials version 10 is one of the most significant releases of accounting software for some time, not just by CODA but probably any financial software company. Arlington Securities is one of several companies in our early adopter programme, and the first to go live. A straightforward upgrade strategy is key to any new CODA release, and Arlington proved this strategy by going live within a month of signing the contract."
Arlington took the decision to upgrade its 16 CODA-Financials users to version 10 in conjunction with a hardware upgrade and a review of its property management system. Graham Weir, Finance Manager at Arlington Securities said: "CODA-Financials offers excellent integration facilities and a wide choice of hardware platforms. This gives us great flexibility when choosing the other applications needed to support our business. The latest version 10 has some great new features and improved ease of use, yet the upgrade was straight forward with no unexpected problems to sort out. This is the sort of high quality product we have come to expect from CODA."
Arlington Securitiesâ system has now been live for more than three months. It uses a Dell Power Edge server, with a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database running under the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system. The CODA-XL application will also be implemented at a later date to deliver secure, spreadsheet-based reporting and input integrated with CODA-Financials.
