Incline Village, NV and New York, NY, May 3, 2004 â Wombat Consulting, Inc., a leading producer of next-generation market data infrastructure, today announced that it has named Danny Moore, formerly responsible for US sales for Kx Systems, to head its global sales, marketing and business development program. Mr. Moore will report to Ron Verstappen, Wombatâs president and CEO.
Mr. Moore is responsible for developing and executing the sales and marketing strategy to grow Wombatâs market-data infrastructure business, establishing a development and support center in the U.K. as a European base of operations and expanding Wombatâs capabilities beyond its expertise in producing feed handler software for direct exchange feeds, now used by 14 customers, 10 of whom were added in 2003, including brokerages, market makers, hedge funds and the largest online discount broker.
"Given the changing nature of the global markets and the opportunities we see ahead, we are making a strategic commitment to invest in and expand our organization," said Verstappen. "Weâre delighted that somebody with Danny Mooreâs credentials has chosen to join Wombat and with his contributions, our staff will grow significantly and our product line will extend beyond the suite of feed handlers that Wombat has been generally known for."
"Wombat has the fastest, best engineered, most scalable, flexible and extensible, direct feed and market data middleware solutions on the market," said Moore. "Their low-cost base and organic growth make them one of the most financially robust companies in the sector. They won enough new business to completely cover their costs for 2004 by end of the first week of January. They have a full order book of direct feeds covering the leading European exchanges for delivery during the next three quarters. This is an extraordinary time to be a part of Wombat in terms of opportunity, potential and impact on such a global scale."
Mr. Moore joins Wombat after three years at First Derivatives plc, where from 2002 to October 2003 he served as head of US sales for Kx Systems, a relational database and analysis products software firm whose products are sold and serviced worldwide by First Derivatives.
He has earned an M.Eng degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering in 1996 and an M.Phil degree in manufacturing management in 2000 from Queens University in Belfast, Ireland, where he was awarded a full Dainton scholarship with Gallaher, Ltd.
