The event is being held today at Adelphi University, Hauppauge, New York and will offer presentations on Business Continuity and Team Building, by Mr. Albert Coletti, Chairman of the Design Capital Planning Group, Inc., and How to Get Your Business Unstuck and Back on the Right Track, by Mr. William O'Connell, Principal for WR O'Connell Consulting, LLC. Mr. Rabetsky's presentation, Identity Theft -- Prevention and Survival, will cover one of the fastest growing and most damaging crimes plaguing the world today. The US Federal Trade Commission estimates identity theft is costing individuals and businesses some $53 billion annually.
This seminar, targeted at the Long Island business community, is expected to be followed by a series of security educational seminars that MDM Group is planning in Mexico, Brazil and the UK this fall and early next year. These seminars will address the many serious issues of concern regarding security, risk management, legal compliance, liability, the Internet, and networked environments.
The immediate opportunity that MDM Group/Solutions International has within the IT security industry is further highlighted by issues such as the massive damage and disruption globally caused by the recent "Netsky" and "Sasser" viruses and the many other continuing and growing threats that business and government face daily. Mr Rabetsky stated: "The seriousness of these issues and the ongoing threat and challenge is highlighted when you consider how sophisticated the implementation of viruses such as Slammer are when they can double every 8.5 seconds -- infecting 90% of the world's unprotected servers in just 10 minutes." And further: "We now also have the demand for compliance with all the new security and privacy initiatives, such as Sarbanes-Oxely and HIPAA, being introduced by governments and regulatory authorities throughout the world. MDM Group is committed to educating companies and governments about security and to raising awareness of the dangers of leaving valuable infrastructures exposed."
