Commenting on the Summit, RiskBusiness Internationalâs Managing Director for Europe, Africa,Australia and Asia, Mike Finlay said "Vendors are used to attending conferences and trade shows to exhibit their products. However, there are many changes underway in the operational risk management arena, including initiatives such as the KRI Study and the KRI Library. Many of these
changes will have considerable impact on the future requirements which firms will require vendor solutions to support. This summit is aimed at providing information on these initiatives to the vendors, while also providing a forum for their feedback which can assist in shaping the future direction for some of these initiatives".
The KRI Study is a global study amongst banks, broker-dealers and other financial services firms focussed on establishing common risk indicators, with the intention to facilitate benchmarking between firms in the future. The KRI Library contains the defined indicators and is available to all participating firms for their further use. The KRI Study was sponsored by RMA â the Risk Management Association and facilitated by RiskBusiness International Limited.
"The KRI Study has over 50 participating organisations, covering Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and North America", states Finlay. "The needs of these firms, as well as the next group of participants who join, have to be accommodated by solution providers. That is the primary purpose behind the Summit".
Individual invitations will be sent out to 30 recognised software solution providers, although all vendors currently active in operational risk management are invited to contact RiskBusiness to ensure they obtain an invitation.
