"There is always the need to provide our clients with access to quality data vendors like Standard & Poorâs, and we are delighted to add them to our list of preferred data providers," Jim Berkowitz, client relationship manger for Global Investment Systems, said. "Through the interface with Standard & Poorâs, MFACT users will be able to receive data daily on securities such as global equities, municipal bonds, corporate bonds, government bonds, and derivative bonds."
MFACT is a fully automated system designed for "in-house" operations to support all aspects and phases of investment and financial accounting, particularly for mutual funds, hedge funds and unit trusts that must compute a net asset value (NAV).
The Standard & Poorâs interface allows clients to create a file listing securities to be priced. It transmits that file to Standard & Poorâs and then retrieves a priced output file from them. All that is required to use this interface is a valid Internet connection on the workstation using this option.
"This expanded relationship with GIS demonstrates Standard & Poorâs continued commitment to mutual fund processing. In addition to municipal pricing, GIS & Standard & Poorâs now offer taxable corporate bond pricing for all asset types including mortgage backed securities, CMOâs, and asset backed securities. We are also expanding the service to include international bond evaluations and global equities," says Frank Ciccotto, Senior Vice President, Standard & Poorâs Securities Evaluations.
MFACT provides users with both standard and custom interfaces for a variety of automated data feeds including trade processing, security information, pricing, corporate actions, custodian position reconciliation, cash settlements, fund share activity, pay down factors and variable rates, among others.
In addition to MFACT, GIS offers MSHARE®, a completely scaleable transfer agency and shareholder record keeping system that supports both retail and institutional investment funds, and the MPARTNERSM and MHEDGESM product suites which provide specific functionality for partnership accounting and tax reporting, managed futures funds, and for "fund of funds" accounting.
