Ecobank selects NOMAD Software and Hewlett Packard to Deliver Card Payment Solutions across West and Central Africa

NOMAD Software, the leading UK card payment solution provider, has won a contract to deliver a new payment solution for Ecobank, a regional banking institution with over 70 branches in 12 countries across West and Central Africa. The centralised processing system, which will be based in the head office in Togo, is designed to support a customer base spanning all Ecobank Affiliates, starting with Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Senegal and Togo.

Dr. Jean Nelson Aka, Ecobank Group CEO, commented: "The card payment market in Africa is advancing rapidly so banks must move fast in order to satisfy customer demands and maintain competitiveness. We needed a robust and scalable solution which would mirror our aggressive business growth plans as well as our brand image in the region. In our judgement, NOMAD Software has the solution."

He added: "We are looking forward to the full implementation of NOMAD CORTEX which will enable us to manage the end-to-end processes involved in delivering card payment solutions to our customers across West and Central Africa."

John Yeomans, CEO of NOMAD Software commented: "In the African banking market, the provision of a first class customer product portfolio and service offering is the key to protecting market share against the international banks who are moving into this space. I am delighted that the Ecobank Group has turned to us for our NOMAD CORTEX solution on the HP platform. We look forward to working with them and helping them to achieve their strategic objectives."
