The breakthrough is the result of a joint venture between AppSwing â a UK mobile communications specialist â and Innov8, a leading developer of Sage 100 related applications.
Using the AppServer solution from AppSwing, the project team was able to deliver an HTML translation of Sage MMS without changing a single line of code. This meant that the entire operation â which would have taken weeks using conventional techniques â was completed in less than three days. Now sliced versions of the MMS can be tailored for delivery to authorised employees using a range of mobile devices.
The new web browser front end for Sage MMS will be launched during a Sage Line 100 Plus Showcase, which is being held to mark the opening of Innov8âs new £1 million headquarters building at the Embankment Business Park in Stockport on January 29.
Also being given its first public airing that day will be Acti-Link, the only link between Sage Line 100 and the best selling Web shop software, Actinic. Acti-Link is one of the recent additions to the Innov8 in-house development teamâs portfolio, which also includes â
- InnVan, the fastest selling van sales system in the UK today with clients including Rank, Hovis, McDougall and Hollandâs Pies
- InnWare, a total warehousing solution used by the leading high street bookseller group Remainders
- InnPoint, the pacesetting EPOS solution recently embraced by the rapidly expanding Cash Generator Group
"If AppServer had been available to us before this, we would not only have saved ourselves a lot of time but also a considerable amount of money in development costs," says Carl Maher, Innov8âs Commercial Director.
The Innov8 event on January 29 will also feature two workshops â "How To Cut Server Costs", featuring the new VMWare Virtual Centre; and "Citrix-And How To Get the Most Out Of It", where third party Citrix boosting products including Peribit will be demonstrated.
