Selkirk's Competitive Switch Program Yields Another New Customer

Adventist Health System switches to Selkirk Financial Technologies' solution for its in-house banking capabilities and user-friendly interface

Vancouver, BC - January 14th, 2004 - Selkirk Financial Technologies today announced the signing of Adventist Health, its second new customer in the month of January to switch from a competitive system. Adventist Health System, headquartered in Florida, operates health care facilities throughout Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado. The company purchased Selkirk's solution primarily for its in-house banking capabilities and ease of use.

Adventist Health System had been using a competitive system since 1995 and was ready to deal with a new vendor for 2 main reasons: their current system was outdated and they were interested in specific in-house banking functionality. "Selkirk's solution was what I considered to be where state of the art should be now", said Mark Block, Director of Treasury Operations at Adventist Health System. "They (the competitor) had added some new bells and whistles and some new functionality in their system but it wasn't anywhere I considered it should be at this point." In addition, Block was not confident in his vendor's system: "I just didn't want to be in a situation where the system, on a day-to-day basis, was unreliable."

Selkirk's technology met all of Block's in-house banking needs and it was much more stable and user-friendly than the system he had been using for close to 8 years. "Selkirk's system was so easy to go in and make additions or deletions, add accounts and make changes, it just wasn't an issue. With the former system my team had to go in and change macros and it got to be fairly cumbersome such that it required frequent intervention from my IT department."

Not surprisingly, Block expects much more from his new relationship with Selkirk. "I expect a smooth installation, few ongoing support issues and something that works without a lot of difficulty - I am very confident Selkirk will deliver". Lyndon Harvey, Selkirk's Senior Vice-President, Global Sales and Services, is excited although not surprised by the recent influx of companies switching to Selkirk: "I am excited to see the flood of interest from companies using competitive systems. We offer the most user-friendly, comprehensive solutions for liquidity management in the industry and we expect more companies to follow this switch trend in the near future."
