Registration Opens for Annual Global EAI Summit

London, 19 February 2004 - The EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) Industry Consortium today announced that registration has now opened to attend this year's Global EAI Summit, a worldwide conference held this year in Banff, Canada from 24-28 May.

The Global EAI Summit is to focus on innovation and thought leadership in Enterprise Application Integration. At this year's "Improving Best Practices...Strengthening Standards" Summit, attendees can take advantage of a program that consists of workshops, tutorials and daily key-note presentations around EAI topics such as Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), adaptors, data integration and integration methodologies. White paper and key-note presentations are led by industry experts including Marc Gordon, Executive VP, Supply Chain and Chief Information Officer, Best Buy; David Chappell, VP and Chief Technology Evangelist, Sonic Software; David Luckham, author "The Power of Events"; David Linthicum, author "Enterprise Application Integration"; and Amit Gupta, Fiorano Software and Co-Chairman of the EAIIC Asia-Pac Committee, to name a few.

In place of an exhibition, conference goers can attend the mid-week poster session and industry exchange consisting of integration-related posters submitted by current EAIIC members and alliances. The posters reflect current research initiatives, new solutions implemented using integration technology and a showcase of products and business solutions from Integration solution vendors. In addition, the Consortium collected over 100 white papers from innovative and insightful leaders in the integration business that focus on improving integration best practices and strengthening standards. Of the top papers accepted by the Consortium, awards will be given to the top three presentations of these papers during the Summit Awards Banquet prior to the closing day of the conference.

"We have put together a program that is not only going to educate but one that is going to be a catalyst for bringing about change in the integration community," states John Schmidt, IS Leader of Best Buy's System Integration & Middleware competency group and Chairman of the Global EAI Summit. John continues, "We are excited about the number of individuals signed up so far and we anticipate selling out".

Michael Kuhbock, Founder and Co-Chairman of the Consortium says, "Over the past 2 years, the Consortium has gained quite a momentum with members from all corners of the globe. Their commitment to developing best practices and using our forum to share experiences and expertise has lead to the creation of the Summit. Bringing together end-users, solution providers, academics and individuals for the common purpose of becoming actively involved in the education and standards initiatives the EAIIC is driving is a very exciting undertaking. We look forward to a successful and groundbreaking event."

Those interested in attending the Summit can register on line.
