Brasfield Affiliate Formed to Exchange Check Images

Image Exchange, the first data center in the South created to help community financial institutions capitalize on Check 21.

Birmingham, AL (February 19, 2004) Brasfield Technology is proud to introduce its affiliate company Image Exchange LLC.

Image Exchange, the first data center in the South created to exchange images, has developed iXchange, a comprehensive check image exchange network designed specifically to accommodate the electronic exchange and settlement of check images for community financial institutions throughout the US.

iXchange is dedicated and committed to open exchange with financial institutions, other industry exchange and settlement networks, and third party check imaging vendors.

iXchange was designed specifically to assist community financial institutions in taking full advantage of the recently passed Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act.

"The financial industry in the United States has grown comfortable with its efficient, costly, and very labor-intensive physical check-clearing infrastructure," said Russell Lloyd, vice president of Image Exchange. "The Check 21 Act is serving as a springboard to enable banks to move away from the ‘tyranny’ of the paper check, and begin using technology which can save the industry billions of dollars a year in processing costs. iXchange can serve as a valuable ally in enabling your institution to begin appreciating the efficiency and cost savings available through this new method of clearing checks," he said.
