KnowledgeView's RAPID Browser delivers pre-packaged content from branded high value sources, such as Dow Jones and Associated Press, and business news from 5,000 Web sites in various languages to end-users of the Talon service within the Investor Relations department. Delivered via the Internet, no special installation is needed on the user's machine to activate this service.
Steve Allen, Chief Operating Officer of IR Global stated, "The launches in Shanghai and Moscow were very successful and we are delighted by the adoption rate of this service". A free trial of IR Global Talon Service is available from the Company Web site.
Dr. Ali Al-Assam, Managing Director of KnowledgeView, stated "RAPID Browser adds the power of news to the Talon database and screening tools, providing the user with a value-added service for peer and sector analysis. RAPID Browser for Delivery handles the acquisition and classification of data and then its delivery to a RAPID Browser window on the desktop of the end-user, who may thereby choose to filter the content, and be alerted to particular stories. The user may take action on the content received such as saving, printing or sharing it, or contribute their own news items to the application, edit and pass on items to others, and receive emails via the Browser."
Launched via the Talon service, the RAPID Browser window is 'free-floating' and allows the user to receive news stories in real-time, which can be filtered to specific market sectors or other news classification codes. Key word
searching and alerting allows the user to track specific companies or other detailed events and receive updates via the screen, audio or email, with the ability to search the database, allowing for the retrieval of historical news
stories and the interrogation of different news mediums.
