Leading Names In Investment Banking Nominated For Technology Awards

19th August, 2004 - London - Many of the biggest names in investment banking have been nominated for this year's Financial News IT Excellence in Investment Banking Awards, to be held at the Merchant Taylors' Hall on 22nd September. ABN Amro, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, and Goldman Sachs are among a host of Europe's top-tier financial institutions in line to receive awards this year. The awards are now in their second year and will be sponsored by the London Stock Exchange and Accenture.

Awards will be presented in 14 categories, ranging from Best IT Department and Best Personal Contribution to Best Strategic Outsourcing and Best Risk Management Initiatives. In the running for the title of Best IT Department this year are, Barclays Capital, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, DrKW, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. To ensure that the awards are truly independent, the categories are being judged by a distinguished panel of over 40 banks, consultants, electronic brokerages and vendors from across Europe.
