MarketXS Appoints Van der Lugt to Supervisory Board

Amsterdam/Schiphol Oost, August 19, 2004 - MarketXS, a leading provider of real-time market data technology and trading solutions, today announced the appointment of Mr. Peter van der Lugt to its Supervisory Board.

Mr. Van der Lugt is the former Chairman of Van der Moolen Holding, the
international trading firm that ranks among the top five New York Stock
Exchange specialists, following a long-standing career in the banking and
securities industries that included management board positions at De
Nationale Investeringsbank, Bank van Haften Labouchere and various
executive positions at among others Aegon and the former ABN and AMRO
organizations. Mr. Van der Lugt is also a Board Member at inter-dealer
broker Prebon Group, and serves in various industry roles including Board
memberships at the Dutch Securities Institute and at the Vereniging van
Effectenbezitters, the Dutch private investors association.

The appointment of Mr. Van der Lugt completes the Supervisory Board of MarketXS, following its recent EUR 13.3 mln investment round where ABN AMRO Capital, Prime Technology Ventures and Telerate joined as shareholders in the company.
