FirstState Bank Signs With Image Centre

Birmingham, AL (April 21, 2004) FirstState Bank has signed a contract with Image Centre, a Brasfield Technology affiliate, for check imaging services. The bank will operate a local sorter for the capture and image of items while Image Centre will maintain the image host system hardware, software, and image archive.

"Brasfield offered truly integrated solutions for check and document imaging and report storage at a cost-effective price," said David Franklin, IT Officer at FirstState Bank. "We liked the built-in disaster recovery associated with Brasfield’s off-site storage, and the fact that their basic proposal included seven years of online storage," he said.

One result of implementing check imaging is that FirstState will be poised to take better advantage of the Check 21 Act, because they will now be able to exchange images of their checks as the law provides. This in turn will provide them with reduced costs, quicker detection of fraud, and quicker collection of funds.

Franklin added, "Perhaps the biggest thing that Brasfield has going for them is the relationship they developed with the people at FirstState. They provided us with a level of comfort that we did not find elsewhere."

FirstState Bank is a $102 million financial institution located in Lineville, AL.

"We are pleased to be working with such a respected community bank as FirstState Bank," said David Brasfield, president and CEO of Image Centre and Brasfield Technology. "We hope that our check imaging system will help them continue to increase the level of service that they provide to their customers and will enable them to operate more efficiently," he said.
