Identitech Appoints Steve Quehl as President/COO and Jim Lochry as SVP Worldwide Sales

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (October 15, 2003) — Identitech, the leading provider of integrated Business Process Management software has announced two key management changes as it prepares to capitalize on market recovery and significant market segment growth. Steve Quehl will take over the reins as President/COO from Kerry Gilger, founder who will continue to guide Identitech as CEO. Jim Lochry takes over for retiring Charlie Warner as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales.

Quehl’s professional career spans 27 years in computer hardware, software and services including executive positions with early workflow and document management vendors such as Wang, ViewStar and Eastman Software. Beginning his career in sales, Steve has achieved success in a variety of leadership roles as CEO, COO, and EVP of sales in high technology firms: from fledgling startups to high growth, industry leaders to turnaround situations. Quehl’s recent experience includes executive assignments at: Marcam Solutions, a publicly traded ERP solution provider; Optiwise, an early-stage, Internet –based collaborative product design software company; and Network Associates, a billion dollar software producer of data and network security solutions. He currently serves on several company advisory boards. Quehl is a 1975 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the 1973 National Championship football team. He completed his MBA studies at Xavier University.

Lochry’s extensive software background includes executive positions with companies such as Peace Software, Extricity, Versant and Oracle. As EVP of WW Field Operations for Peace Software, Lochry increased sales dramatically and established critical industry partnerships to extend market presence. As VP of worldwide sales at Extricity, Lochry was directly responsible for growing the company from $3.5 million to $28+ million in less than two years and establishing operations in Taiwan, Germany and the UK. Lochry graduated with a BS in business administration and finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, and an MBA from the University of Detroit in Michigan.
Identitech, founded by Gilger in 1987 with the company’s first product - the Instant Signature Verification System (ISVS), has grown organically at a 10-20% growth rate since 1993, when Identitech introduced FYI® – the first, integrated solution for document imaging, document management and workflow. Other product components have since been added including DOD 5015.2-certified Records Management option, Electronic Forms, Print-Stream Capture, and Business Activity Monitoring. The company is now poised to take advantage of the burgeoning Business Process Management (BPM) market.

Identitech technology is used by over 750 customers and is most widely deployed in the government, financial services, automotive, and energy markets.
Bill Chambers, Principal Analyst with Doculabs, a technology consulting firm that helps organizations reduce the risk of technology investment, offers this observation: "Identitech has long had a strong, competitive solution for companies seeking to create a digital workplace including capture, electronic content, workflow, and forms. Based on this announcement, the recent introduction of FYI Visual and the repositioning of the company around Business Process Management, we believe that Identitech is solidly positioned to become one of the leaders in the BPM segment."

"Having reached $2.2 billion in 2002, the Business Process Management (BPM) market is poised for significant additional growth, as more and more businesses look to streamline operations and cut costs," states Tom Dwyer, VP and Managing Director of Aberdeen’s Enterprise and Internet Infrastructure practice. "Business Process Management products offer a business-process oriented framework to manage the integration and information infrastructure of an organization in order to systematically bridge internal and external people with applications and back-end systems. With a measurable ROI, BPM technologies enable companies to reduce operational expenses, and over the long run, enable them to be more adaptive, responsive, and productive. Identitech is one of just a handful of vendors that offers all components necessary to truly implement Business Process Management."

"I am very pleased that both Jim and Steve have chosen to join our leadership team," said Kerry Gilger, CEO and Founder of Identitech. "We had previously added Fred Haber to run Operations and Kathy Jaques to lead marketing – both of whom are seasoned, results-oriented professionals. The addition of Jim and Steve creates a formidable team that can take Identitech forward aggressively."
