HVB Goes Live on SunGard’s Monis Convertible Analyzer to Support its Expansion Into Global Convertible Bonds Trading

NEW YORK, May 28, 2003-- SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, an operating group of SunGard (NYSE: SDS), today announced that Munich-based Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank AG (HVB) has implemented the Monis Convertibles Analyzer and data solution. The Monis Convertible Analyzer is a specialized front- and middle-office system for the analysis, trading, portfolio management and risk management of equity-linked securities, including convertible bonds and the instruments needed to hedge them.

HVB selected Monis to support its growth in equity-linked products. Monis enables HVB Corporates & Markets to price and analyze its convertible bond positions from any desk: Sales, Research, Trading, Risk and other business lines across London and Munich simultaneously use the Monis Convertible Analyzer, which operates from a server based in London. Users share the same static and live data, and can maintain watch-lists, rapidly build specific queries, price multiple instruments, conduct sensitivity analyses under different scenarios, try out hedges, capture trades, manage multiple portfolios and run canned or customized reports.

Inderjit Bedi, responsible for global convertible distribution at HVB Corporates & Markets in London, said, "We like the architecture, model, functionality and features of Monis that enable us to add our own expertise to the customizable database, trade complex strategies and offer our traders and sales people a quality convertible bond pricing and analysis service."

Emanuel Mond, president of SunGard’s Monis operating unit, said, "Monis provides the industry benchmark model for convertible bonds as well as a reliable, open, client-server architecture that allows data to be exported and imported easily while securing the core information in a database. Three hundred and fifty clients globally rely on Monis’ Convertible Analyzer to accurately trade and hedge their convertible bonds and other equity-linked securities positions."
